I favour a person-centred approach (yet can access other approaches as required), believing that each client has the potential to reach their goals, if provided with the right support. 

I have a heart for hearing each individual’s unique life story, and feel passionate about the power of being truly heard. I also enjoy and have experienced the benefit of working creatively with clients to give them hope and help them move towards their goals. Creativity within the counselling context allows thoughts and feelings to be explored through a different lens, which can be really helpful for some clients. 

I am a fully qualified counsellor, having completed my DipHE in Counselling with Waverley Abbey College in June 2022. This training allows me to work with clients age 16+.

This training has complemented and built upon many years of experience of working with people in need, following my previous roles within the Police, and more recently within Private Healthcare. These experiences, have given me a real passion for caring for people, and an understanding of the value that can be found in providing a safe space for someone, that is encouraging, supportive and non-judgemental. 

 I am a Christian and a member of the Association of Christian Counsellors, and therefore adhere to their ethics and values. However, my training allows me to work with people of all faiths or people of no faith. I am very open and non judgemental so I want you to know that regardless of your faith, culture or background you will be fully respected at all times. 

Alongside my private practice, I see clients through a variety of local counselling agencies, and am also a Counselling Service Manager for one of them. 

I also receive regular supervision for my work, and ensure that my skills and knowledge are kept up to date through continued professional development (CPD).
